It is believed that this charming view was a place of meditation and inspiration for Leonardo Da Vinci, during his travels in Tuscany. The main source of inspiration and motivation for Leonardo's paintings, drawings and studies is said to be the Tuscan countryside.
Walking through the 12 acres of land around the Burattino Country house, traditionally cultivated with the typical fruits of the Tuscan countryside, including olives and grapes, you may turn yourself into a modern artist and enjoy the enchantment of nature which is still the same as it was during Leonardo’s lifetime.

Before you pass through the path of Siena and reach the most beautiful terrace of the Renaissance city, piazzale Michelangelo, from where you can admire ecstatic, Firenze, take a break by us in the countryside. Surrounded by olive trees and oaks you can discover landscapes, traditions, colors and authentic flavors of Chianti.
In these places have developed the ancient crafts of the pressing of the olives with stone mills, kilns for firing pottery and near here, in the main square of Impruneta village, you can still see the pound bunches of grapes, as it was a time to make wine.
Take a walk in the olive orchard of the Maiano farm, where you can find young donkeys and big cows with their calves; you will also see superb cockerels and free-range chicken, along with noisy geese and young grey rabbits.
You can also find ostriches, the famous Cinta Senese pigs, pretty goats and many other animals that live together in harmony, in an environment of a rare beauty.
Walking along, you may also reach the Column Lake, a fairy-tale place created in the second half of the 19th century upon orders of Sir John Temple Leader, who owned the farm at that time. The lake was born from the penetration of the waters of the Mensola river to the ancient Cave of the Columns, named like this because its stones had served for the construction of the columns of the Saint Lawrence Chapel of the Princes in Florence.The Small Lake of the Columns has had illustrious guests across the centuries, such as England’s Queen Victoria, as proved by a painting that shows her trying to paint this enchanted angle of the farm.

The programme includes two parts: a first part with lectures in English and Italian within the Villa Bardini and a second part that will take place in the outdoors, starting from the marvellous garden of Villa Bardini, one of the most important Florentine gardens and then moving to other gardens of the Medici family, such as the Boboli garden and other villas and gardens in Florence, where you will be able to assist to a series of lectures in English and Italian by specialists in gardening and landscaping.
If you want to know the secrets of oak trees, cypresses and olive trees, come to Villa Peyron.Here, you will take part in a project whose force – according to Mara Amorevoli – is the aesthetic, literary and scientific discovery of the trees that are a part of our history and represent monuments of our landscape.Those who live in the urban area do not know the value of these environmental goods that, in our case, can also be considered cultural goods.Here, you will be able to smell, draw, embrace along with us the three green patriarchs.A full immersion into nature is possible due to the presence of experts in Forestry Sciences of the University of Florence, who will have their lectures inside the park (two hour each lecture). These lectures will be preceded by preparatory lessons on tree-related literature.

The Park Romantic Queen was built by nobleman John Temple Leader between 1870 and 1893 around the Cava called the Pillars. The small roads of the stonemasons were transformed and valued as romantic paths and botanical for its guests. Everything was inaugurated by Queen Victoria of England April 12, 1893.From these places will have passed Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Benedetto and Giuliano da Majano, Boccaccio, Vasari, Lorenzo the Magnificent and tantialtri.
